2. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that websites can store on your device while you browse.

They can be used, for example, to:

  • allow the site to function correctly;

  • maintain some technical settings;

  • ensure safe navigation;

  • remember preferences expressed by the user;

  • collect statistical information on the use of the site;

  • recognize certain interactions between the user and the pages visited.

Cookies can be installed directly by the visited site, in which case they are called first-party cookies, or by parties other than the site operator, in which case they are called third-party cookies.

Similar functions can also be performed through other technological tracking tools.

3. Types of cookies used by the site

The Manicaretto site mainly uses:

  • technical and strictly necessary cookies;

  • functional cookies that may be necessary for the Wix platform;

  • Google Analytics analytical cookies, subject to the user's consent.

The site does not currently use Meta Pixels or Google Ads tools for advertising purposes.

4. Technical and strictly necessary cookies

The sitewww.manicaretto.itIt is built and hosted on the Wix platform.

Wix may use technical cookies and other strictly necessary tools to enable:

  • correct loading of pages;

  • the functioning of the site infrastructure;

  • navigation safety;

  • the prevention of abuse;

  • how Wix features work;

  • managing cookie preferences;

  • how Wix Forms work;

  • maintaining the technical settings necessary for the session.

These tools are essential to allow the user to use the site correctly or to provide functions requested by the user.

Prior consent is not required for these cookies when the conditions set by applicable law apply.

The legal basis for the processing of personal data in connection with these tools is, as appropriate, the need to provide the service requested by the user and the legitimate interest of the Data Controller in ensuring the proper functioning and security of the site.

5. Cookies related to consent

The site uses consent management tools made available through the Wix platform.

These tools can store the preferences expressed by the user, for example:

  • acceptance of non-essential cookies;

  • refusal of non-essential cookies;

  • choice of certain categories;

  • subsequent modification of preferences.

Cookies used exclusively to store the user's privacy preferences and consent are considered necessary for the operation of the preference management system.

6. Google Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4, a statistical analysis service provided by Google.

Google Analytics allows MANICARETTO SRLS to understand, in statistical form, how the site is used.

By way of example, information may be collected relating to:

  • number of visits;

  • number of users;

  • pages viewed;

  • session duration;

  • navigation routes;

  • interactions with pages;

  • browser type;

  • device type;

  • operating system;

  • approximate geographic location;

  • origin of the visit.

Google Analytics is used exclusively after the user has given consent to analytical cookies, in cases where such consent is required by applicable law.

Refusing Google Analytics does not prevent normal site navigation.

7. Cookies used by Google Analytics

In the standard configuration of Google Analytics 4, the following cookies, among others, can be used:

_ga

Provider: Google Analytics
Purpose: Allows users to be distinguished through a pseudonymous identifier.
Type: analytical cookie
Default duration: up to 2 years
Activation: with the user's consent

_ga_<ID>

Provider: Google Analytics
Purpose: Allows you to maintain information relating to the session state.
Type: analytical cookie
Default duration: up to 2 years
Activation: with the user's consent

The identifier present in the name of the second cookie varies based on the Google Analytics property used by the site.

The actual duration may also differ if specific settings have been configured in the Google Analytics property or as a result of the limitations applied by the browser used by the user.

8. Google Consent Mode

The site may use tools compatible with the Google Consent Mode system, which allows Google services to adapt their behavior to the preferences expressed by the user.

In particular, the status relating to storage for analytical purposes can be set as allowed or denied based on the choice made through the cookie banner.

When storage for analytical purposes is not permitted, Google Analytics must not use the normal system for storing analytical cookies on the user's device.

9. Purpose of analytical cookies

The data collected through Google Analytics is used by MANICARETTO SRLS exclusively for statistical purposes and to understand:

  • which pages are most consulted;

  • which contents generate the most interest;

  • how users navigate the site;

  • which devices are used;

  • which sections could be improved;

  • the overall effectiveness of the site's content and structure.

Google Analytics is not used by Manicaretto to make automated decisions about the user.

10. Legal basis for analytical cookies

The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics cookies is the user's consent, pursuant to Art. 6, paragraph 1, letter a) of the GDPR and applicable legislation regarding cookies and tracking tools.

The user can:

  • give consent;

  • refuse it;

  • select certain categories;

  • change your choice later;

  • revoke previously expressed consent.

The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out before the withdrawal.

11. Cookie banner

When you first access the site, a banner is displayed through which the user can manage their preferences.

The user must be able to freely choose whether to:

  • accept non-essential cookies;

  • reject non-essential cookies;

  • customize your preferences.

Failure to provide consent does not prevent access to the site's content or the use of features that do not require non-essential cookies.

Simply continuing to browse, scrolling the page, or closing the banner does not, in itself, constitute valid consent to non-essential cookies.

12. Changing or revoking preferences

The user can change any preferences previously expressed at any time through the cookie management system available on the site.

A function equivalent to the following must be available in the footer or through the appropriate command on the site:

“Manage cookie preferences”

through which the user can:

  • consult the categories used;

  • change consent;

  • withdraw consent;

  • reject previously accepted categories.

13. Third-party cookies

Some features of the site are provided through services belonging to third parties.

In the case of Manicaretto, the main subjects involved are:

Wix

Wix provides the platform through which your website is built, hosted, and managed.

Wix may use cookies or other tools necessary for the operation of its infrastructure and the services integrated into the site.

Google

Google provides the Google Analytics service used, with prior consent, for statistical purposes.

Google may receive some information relating to the use of the site within the limits of the functionality and settings of the Analytics service.

Processing carried out independently by third-party providers is governed by their respective privacy policies.

14. Transfer of data to non-EEA countries

Wix and Google operate internationally.

The use of these services may involve the processing of personal data even outside the European Economic Area.

Where applicable, such transfers are carried out through the mechanisms provided for in Articles 44 et seq. of the GDPR, such as:

  • European Commission adequacy decisions;

  • standard contractual clauses;

  • other instruments recognized by applicable legislation.

For further information on international transfers, please also consult the privacy policies of the respective providers.

15. Google Analytics data storage

The duration of cookies does not necessarily coincide with the data retention period within the Google Analytics platform.

Google Analytics allows the property manager to independently configure specific retention periods for data associated with users and events.

MANICARETTO SRLS configures these periods in a manner consistent with the principle of limitation of storage provided for by the GDPR.

The actual configured duration can be verified in the settings of the Google Analytics property used by the site.

16. Managing cookies via browser

In addition to the tools available directly on the site, the user can configure their browser to:

  • block all cookies;

  • delete existing cookies;

  • block cookies from certain sites;

  • receive a notification before a cookie is installed.

Disabling strictly necessary cookies may, however, compromise the correct functioning of some features of the site.

The ways in which cookies are managed vary depending on the browser used.

17. Rights of the interested party

With regard to personal data processed through cookies or other tracking tools, the interested party may exercise, in the cases provided for by law, the rights recognized by Articles 15-22 of the GDPR.

In particular, you may ask:

  • data access;

  • rectification;

  • cancellation;

  • limitation of processing;

  • portability, where applicable;
